Jazmin Quijano was 22 weeks and 3 days pregnant and experiencing back labor. She expected to deliver at her local hospital in Stockton, but was told that they weren’t equipped to care for a baby that premature if she were to deliver. She and her partner headed north to UC Davis Children's Hospital, but didn't make it in time. Their baby was born on the side of Highway 99 in South Sacramento. Now, the Sacramento firefighters who responded that night explain how they kept the preterm baby alive as she was transported to UC Davis Medical Center.
