On Friday, October 17th, 2025,
Academic Technology Services hosted a Faculty Forum on GenAI
as a Teaching and Tutoring Tool.
The
rapid growth and pervasive impact of generative artificial intelligence
have created opportunities and challenges for UC Davis faculty and
students. Anticipating fielding faculty insights about AI challenges and
practical solutions, Academic Technology Services hosted a
one-hour conversation that highlighted strategies for using AI to
support student learning while addressing academic integrity and
encouraging critical thinking.
As with other Faculty Forums, this
session was interactive and peer-centric. Participants asked questions, shared experiences, and considered how GenAI might enhance
or complicate our students’ readiness to meet our expectations and
accomplish the learning objectives of our classes. Whether you are
skeptical and resistant, curious about getting started, or already
piloting AI-based approaches, we hope watch this recording of faculty colleagues to compare insights and resources.
