The student voice is frequently missing from conversations about
Generative AI in the classroom. In this session, we will share select
findings from a recent survey of UCD undergraduate students (2024
Winter) that provide valuable insight to help establish expectations for
GenAI uses in the classroom. The session will then connect student
perspectives to strategies that allow instructors to use GenAI tools to
design assignments and assessments that advance student learning.
Participants will also leave with an action planning template to bring
alignment between expectations, assignments, and assessments for GenAI
course activities.
