The Digital Health and Informatics at UC Davis: Advancing
Research and Real-World Practice is a seminar series highlighting tools,
services, resources, and projects across UC Davis that support translational
team science. Each session features panelists discussing existing platforms,
tools, and services; showcasing recent projects; and sharing lessons learned
related to data, analytics, and collaboration.
In this session, Amir Rahmani, Ph.D. will
introduce agentic chatbot technologies and mobile health research resources
available to UC Davis researchers. The session will feature two platforms
originally developed at the University of California, Irvine: Centralive, a mobile
health research platform, and Livi, a conversational
health agent built on the open-source openCHA framework.
Centralive accelerates mobile health research by offering no-code tools for
integrating wearable devices, conducting Ecological Momentary Assessments
(EMA), and delivering just-in-time digital interventions through mobile
applications. Livi enables researchers to design safe, personalized, and
knowledge-grounded agentic chatbots without coding, using an intuitive
drag-and-drop interface. The platform allows you to connect chatbots to
validated knowledge sources while also defining guardrails and behavioral
guidelines to guide chatbot responses.
Through this collaboration, ICTS members will receive exclusive
access to selected Centralive services at no cost. In addition, ICTS will
provide support for longitudinal data analytics, helping researchers leverage
continuous, real-world data in their studies.
