The UC Postharvest Technology Center and the Department of Biological & Agricultural Engineering, in collaboration with the UC Davis World Food Center present "Emerging Technologies: Addressing Grand Challenges in the Produce Industry," May 23-25, 2022.
This 2.5-day hybrid workshop (offered in person and virtually via Zoom) brings together academics, extension experts, and industry representatives to discuss and propose solutions to labor shortages, consumer demands, and other challenges in the produce industry, and map out future directions in produce-handling technology.
Participants will learn about emerging technologies; research and development that can revolutionize how fresh produce is harvested, handled, stored, transported and distributed from farm to table; and how to create a produce supply chain that ensures the integrity, safety and nutritional quality that today's consumers demand.
