n this conversation, Emeritus Professor Chris van Kessel discusses his career at the University of California at Davis, including important persons and events that shaped his interests and scholarship. How he came to the Davis campus and his experiences, relationships and accomplishments as a member of the University and the local community. He served as Department Chair of Agronomy and Range Science and founding Chair of the Department of Plant Sciences. served on various editorial boards of international journals and is currently co-Editor in Chief of Field Crops Research journal. He is a fellow of the Agronomy Society of America, the Crop Science Society of America, the Soil Science Society of America and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
