Dr. Cardiff is an educator, administrator, pathologist and scientist who started his career in the UCD School of Medicine in 1971. He recounts the somewhat chaotic early development of the school from the viewpoint of a junior faculty. He continues with the maturation of the school in the 1980s. His reminiscences include the development of new curriculum, taking the chairmanship, the early development of medical informatics at UCD and his use of digital imaging to provide pathology services to the scientific community worldwide over the internet.
