This interview is with Robert Page, Distinguished Professor and Chair Emeritus of Entomology and Nematology. He was appointed in 1989 and served as Chair from 1999 to 2004. He retired in 2004 to accept a position as Director of the School of Life Sciences at Arizona State University where he subsequently served as vice provost and dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and later as University Provost.
His research focuses on honey bee behavior and population genetics, particularly the evolution of complex social behavior. He produced the first genomic map of the honey bee.
Among his many accolades, he was elected to the German National Academy of Science and is a Fellow of The American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He received the prestigious Alexander von Humboldt Senior Scientist Award.
