This interview is with Lars Berglund, Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Internal Medicine and Associate Dean for Research Emeritus . After positions at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden and Columbia University, he came to Davis in 2002 and retired in 2020.
His interests include cardiovascular disease, lipoprotein metabolism, vascular disease, inflammation and HIV. He was recruited to UC Davis as founding Director of the General Clinical Research Center and the Clinical and Translational Science Center. In 2008 he was appointed Associate Dean for Research and served as Vice Dean until his retirement in 2020. From 2017-2019 he was Interim Dean of the School of Medicine. He is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Clinical and Translational Science.
