We enjoyed presentations by two DOLCE speakers, Debbie Fetter and 
TJ Ushing, both speaking about ETRA grants. Educational Technology 
Resource Awards (or ETRAs) are small grants available every quarter to 
faculty (staff resources permitting) who would benefit from the 
expertise of photographers, illustrators, audio engineers, 
videographers, and even 2-D animators in support of undergraduate

Debbie Fetter – “Oh the Places You can Go...with an ETRA!”
Debbie
 Fetter, Associate Professor of Teaching for the Department of 
Nutrition, shared her various experiences with using ETRAs to bring 
lecture material to life by working with the experts at ATS--from 
designing new lecture slides to creating new in-studio lecture 
videos--the possibilities of using an ETRA are (almost) unlimited!
TJ Ushing – “What is an ETRA and why would I want that?”
Our
 second speaker, TJ Ushing, is the Audio, Video and Events Team 
Supervisor of Instructional Media and Creative Services (IMACS) at 
Academic Technology Services at UC Davis. Ushing oversees the staff that
 will work with faculty to create the media content that will support 
classes that benefit from ETRA grants.
