Before the pandemic made Zoom ubiquitous and home-recorded instructional videos commonplace, our colleague from Mathematics, Joseph Biello, had started sharing what he calls “really clear videos” in his Math 21D: Vector Analysis class, and then using class time to engage with students and solve math problems requested by the students.
At DOLCE on Friday, February 3rd, 2023, we learned from Professor Biello’s experience over several years of figuring how best to “flip” his math classes, and from other colleagues who have taught successfully with video.
This DOLCE concluded with an update on innovative teaching with ChatGPT (which just turned two months old). ATS instructional design consultant Dr. Margaret Merrill will also share a newly-written guide to support our making our classes more accessible to all learners at UC Davis.
