People’s theories about their own intelligence and abilities have a significant impact on their motivation, effort, and approach to challenges. Those who have a growth mindset—they believe their abilities are malleable and intelligence can be cultivated—are more likely embrace challenges and persist in the face of failure. This research-based presentation will explore the definitions, examples and impacts of fixed vs. growth mindsets and will provide solutions for changing your mindset and helping support growth mindset in your department. Presented by Ashley Odell.
