By definition, the tropics are located between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn (23.3 N to 23.3 S). At the equator, the plants and animals here get a whopping 12 hours of daylight consistently throughout the year. Well, for some plants and animals. Today, we will learn how some areas of the rain forests can actually be incredibly dark places. Our trip today will cover three biomes in the tropics: Tropical Rain Forests, Tropical Seasonal Forest and Scrub, and Savannas.
