Two-stage exams allow instructors to both assess individual conceptual mastery and promote learning through intensive peer discussion. During a two-stage remote exam, students first completed a take-home exam on their own, and then collaborated on a group exam in Breakout Rooms during a synchronous Zoom meeting. In this presentation, I will describe the logistics of group formation, exam administration, and accommodations, and share ways in which the remote version has inspired a more flexible and inclusive in-person two-stage exam.
