Dr. Claire Pomeroy presents "A call to action: Improving society through medical research" at UC Davis on February 21, 2019
Dr. Claire Pomeroy, emerita vice chancellor of Human Health Sciences at UC Davis and dean of the School of Medicine, returns to UC Davis for a special talk as part of the school’s 50th Anniversary activities.
As an expert in infectious diseases and a pioneer in health care policy, Pomeroy has focused particular interest on the importance of social determinants of health and has published more than 100 articles and book chapters. She is currently president and CEO of the Albert and Mary Lasker Foundation in New York, an organization dedicated to improving health through medical research, public education and advocacy.
Dr. Pomeroy was a featured speaker at the Davis campus on Thursday, Feb. 21, in the Genome Building. Her noontime lecture was titled, “A call to action: Improving society through medical research.”
