Ultrashort pulse reflectometry (USPR) is a plasma radar diagnostic technique which measures electron density. Ultrashort chirps with multifrequency components are launched into the plasma and reflected at varying cut-off layers. The reflected chirps are down converted and filtered into 16 frequencies. The time of flight of each filtered packet is calculated then digitized. The time-of-flight data are Abel inverted to generate a density profile.
