This interview is with Edward Price, Professor Emeritus of Animal Science. After 10 years in the Zoology Department at SUNY Syracuse, he accepted an appointment in Animal Science in 1976 and retired in 2002.
Ed’s research focused on animal behavior and, in particular, the reproductive behavior of cattle, sheep, and goats. As the first animal behaviorist in the department, he created courses in animal behavior including the very popular Domestic Animal Behavior Laboratory.Ed served as Chair of Animal Science and as Associate Dean of the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. He was elected a Fellow of the Animal Behavior Society and served as the president of that organization.
He is interviewed by his friend and colleague, Joy Mench, Professor Emerita of Animal Science.
