This interview is with Leo Chalupa, Distinguished Professor Emeritus and Chair Emeritus of Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior. He was appointed in 1975 and retired in 2009 to accept a position as Vice President of Research at George Washington University.
His research focuses on the neurobiology of the developing visual system and the complimentary roles of genetics and environment in shaping that development. He was the founding director of the UC Davis Center for Neuroscience, served as Chair of Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior from 1998 to 2009 and then as Vice president research George Washington University starting in 2009. He is a Fellow of the American Institute for the Advancement of Science.
He is interviewed by his friend and colleague, Kimberley McAllister, Professor of Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior and Director of the Center for Neuroscience.
