This interview is with Neal Van Alfen, dean emeritus and
professor emeritus, who was recruited to UC Davis to
serve as dean of the College of Agricultural and
Environmental Sciences and served in that role for 13
years before resigning this position. He was a professor
in the Department of Plant Pathology with a research
program focused on the viruses of fungi and their use in
biological control of plant diseases.
