Speaker, PhD candidate Luis Salazar, from UC Davis, introduces students to RStudio. He discusses what R is, what it can do, and shows what the program looks like when you are working in it. He provides examples of how to name objects, categorize objects, import data from a csv file, assign data as qualitative or quantitative, review a summary of your imported data, import packages (tools), make and edit plots using ggplot, including box plots, violin plots, density plots, spatial maps, and heat maps using rrBLUP.
